Using the house
On this page you will find instructions for the basic usage of the house. Please quickly read it through so things are used correctly and you get the most of your stay. For detailed information use the menu or links below
Temperature control
The house temperature is controlled by central floor-based heating, and you typically don’t need to change it. However you can change the temperature for the primary rooms, but it typically takes 4-6 hours to correct.
The temperature should ALWAYS be between 18-23 degrees (standard is 21) or the wood floor can get damaged.
When you turn the wheel the new target temperature is shown (which should be between 18-23) and then revert back to the current temperature after a few seconds.
The temperature controls are located in the bedroom, on the piano in the living room and behind the coffee machine in the kitchen.
Fireplace
The fireplace is simple to use with these simple rules:
Always use dry wood - important!
It is opened by pushing the glass gently upwards
Set the small handle all the way to “+” (right) when using it and all the way to “-” (left) when off.
Please don't try to clean it - we will do this after your stay
Note: The wood found in the house is for you to use. If you need more please bring your own wood (can be bought in most markets). The wood on the property is for private use only.
Thanks in advance.
Folding doors
The folding doors gives great access the outside terrasse in the summertime. As standard only the single door opens (Handle 1). Use this on day-to-day basis. If you leave the door open remember to click it into the lock (otherwise, the wind can blow the door into the glass and damage the whole door).
To open folding door completely do the following:
Open the single door element and secure in the lock (using Handle 1)
Turn the two remaining inside handles clock-wise 90° (Handle 2 and 3)
Push gently on outwards on Handle 3 to initiate the folding
